The Inkeeper owned an inn somewhere near Paris. While he was meeting new customer, Alexandre d'Artagnan, his inn was infiltrated by disguised Musketeers who pointed pistols at them. When another customer, Michel Fournier, retrieved his own weapon, the Musketeers opened fire. Following the attack, the innkeeper traveled to Paristo inform the authority of the attack and the murder of his two guests. Cardinal Armand Richelieu interrogated him in front of King Louis and Queen Anne.
